The People Canvas explores the people, pressure, decisions, growth, and uncomfortable truths we don’t always say out loud.

What do you do when you know your leader can’t lead what comes next?
When does resilience become tolerance?
What happens when your competence starts hiding someone else’s leadership gap?
When is staying through the storm courage—and when is it fear?
These are the conversations I want us to have.

Different moments call for different kinds of reflection.
Some ideas are meant to start the day. Some are worth sitting with before the next decision. Others need more room.
The People Canvas creates space for all three.
THE 8:00 MEETING
Before your first meeting.
A thought for the day ahead.
1:22
Before the next decision.
A moment to pause and reconsider.
THE SKETCHPAD
Where the thinking gets more room.
Long-form conversations about leadership as it really happens

I’m Adrina Walker—an executive, educator, writer, and student of leadership. My perspective comes from leading people and organizations, and from watching what happens when the frameworks meet real life.
The People Canvas is where I make room for those observations—the lessons learned, the questions still worth asking, and the conversations worth having.
I’m less interested in how leadership should look. I’m interested in what leadership actually requires.

Leadership Gets Complicated

The Quiet Part Out Loud

Before the Next Decision

The Human Side of the Work

Leadership has never been as neat as the frameworks make it look.
People are complicated. Organizations are complicated. Power, ambition, judgment, relationships, timing and circumstance all enter the room with us.
I created The People Canvas to make space for that complexity.
Not another set of rules for becoming a better leader. A place to think more deeply about the leader you already are—and the one you’re still becoming.
The work is human. So is the leadership.
Speaking. Collaboration. Leadership conversations. Other interesting ideas. Let’s talk.

Leadership worth thinking about, delivered to your inbox. Get the latest from The 8:00 Meeting, 1:22, The SketchPad, and occasional notes from me—curated, not crowded.
Some thoughts need more room.
The SketchPad is where I go beyond the quick observation and stay with the question a little longer—leadership, power, people, careers, organizations, and the things we don’t always say out loud. No frameworks for framework’s sake. No perfect answers. Just thinking worth sitting with.
